AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Like father, like son

The latest to join the list of sons succeeding their fathers in film industry is Ashwin. Son of actor-turned-politician S Ve Shekher, Ashwin is making his debut on the silver screen with Vegam.

Well trained in martial arts and dance, Ashwin had played an action-packed role in his maiden venture.

'It is my desire make a career out of acting. I thank my father, who encouraged and motivated me. He insisted that I hone my skills before taking the plunge,' says Ashwin.

Tollywood actress Archana is the heroine while Shekher plays a cameo. Prabhu dons the role of a police officer. A major portion of the movie was shot in Malaysia.

Musical score is by Rajesh Vaidya.

A tete-a-tete with Ashwin, whose Vegam is slated to hit the screen next week.

Q: How do you feel with your maiden venture Vegam releasing next week?

A: I am running through mixed emotions. I am happy that it has shaped up well. Equally tensed to know the audience reaction. The movie's promo has been received well by the audience.

        Q: Throw light on Vegam?

A: Quite appropriate to the title, the movie is fast-paced. I play a youth, who runs an event management company.

In an alien land (Malaysia), I rescue a girl caught in trouble. Prabhu, Kushboo, Sriman and my father (S Ve Shekher) play prominent roles in the film.

Q: How do you prepare yourself to foray into cinema?

A: When I expressed my desire to act in films, to my father, he advised me to learn the craft well before venturing to act. I studied dance and stunts for over two years. I interacted with lots of film personalities, watched several films. Fortunately, we came across a good script in Vegam.

Q: Your experiences while shooting for the film?

A: I felt very comfortable in the sets. My cinematographer Selvaraj was encouraging. My father's presence in the sets motivated me to give my best. But for the support of my cast and crew, Vegam would not have been completed.

        Q: Your favourite hero?

A: I grew up watching Kamal Haasan's films. He is my good guide. His dedication to his profession floored me. It's my wild dream to share the screen with Kamal Haasan once.
