Awards for toppers in board exams

School topers after receiving awards at a function organised by Lions Club of Royal Excellence and Guindy Exnora Innovators Club in Chennai on Friday.

Students must work hard and acquire knowledge to make progress in their lives, said Lions Clubs International Dist. 324-A1 vice district governor (elect) PMJF Ln Ravichandran.

He was speaking at a school toppers award function organised by Lions Club of Royal Excellence and Guindy Exnora Innovators Club at Beta Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Chennai on Friday.

Students from the schools in areas like Guindy, Velachery, Maduvan-karai, Alandur, Adambakkam and Nanganallur were given awards for doing well in board exams.

Ravichandran said that while students make progress in their lives by achieving greater heights, they should make contributions to the development of the nation.

Exnora joint general secretary R Govindaraj said that students must give equal importance to their health apart from their academic activities. They should strive to make contribution towards the betterment of the environment and parents too could play a crucial role by encouraging students to take part in promoting environment- friendly activities, said Govindaraj.

Alandur Municipality ex-chairman R S Bharathi said that students could consider taking up IAS and IPS in order to render better service to the nation. Correspondent of Beta School K Palaniappan said that LEO Club would be started to render service to the underprivileged residing in areas of Guindy and nearby areas so as to provide education to them.

Lions Clubs International Dist. 324-A1 vice district governor II (elect) N Rajasekar was also present.
