.

Hitting the campaign trail for the 19 December Tamilnadu Asembly bypolls AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa today accused the DMK Government of being corrupt and asked the voters to teach a lesson by defeating it.

Canvassing for AIADMK Tiruchendur constituency candidate T Narayanan, she alleged that the DMK was distributing  'the fraudulent money of spectrum scam' to voters but asked them to vote for the AIADMK to 'save democracy'.

.

Voters should utilise the bypolls to teach a lesson to the DMK, she said. Besides Tiruchendur, byelection is being held for Vandavasi segment also.

AIADMK had boycotted the bypolls to five assembly seats held in August, claiming they would not be free and fair under the DMK regime in the state and UPA at the Centre.

Targeting the UPA Government over the price rise issue, the former chief minister said 'The Centre had failed to deliver its duty. It should bear responsibility for price rise,' she told an election meeting in Punnaikayal village in the district.

Farmers  were badly hit as they could not generate proper income through farm products. The 'skyrocketing' prices of essential commodities had created an adverse impact among the people and the government had failed to take credible steps to contain it, she said.
