The good news for Karthika, the daughter of yesteryear heroine Radha is that she has been signed opposite Vishal, for a film to be directed by Sundar C. Though initially Hansika was approached for the role, it has now fallen into Karthika’s lap.

Says Sundar C, ‘Yes, we did approach Hansika for the movie. Since she couldn’t accommodate her dates, Karthika has been roped in.’

While the tall Vishal plays a triple role for the first time, there’s only one heroine in the flick, says the filmmaker.

About choosing Karthika, he said, ‘It’s not a typical heroine’s role. The character has a lot of bearing on the script! Since Karthika is just one film old, I felt she would make a fresh pair with Vishal. An added advantage is that she is fluent in Tamil.’

Vishal is presently busy with Samaran with Trisha, while Karthika is doing Bharathiraja’s Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum.
