Alwars of ancient Tamilnadu not only helped to spread Vaishavism across the country they also enriched the Tamil language by their religious works, said Tamil Isai Sangam president Justice PR Gokulakrishnan.

He said this at function to discuss Alwars works here recently. He said it is the duty of the Tamils to popularise their works to the younger generation. 'We should take their works to the next generation to enlighten them,' he added. Speaking on the occasion, Thirukovilur Srimath Emperumanar Jeeyar Sri OV Srinivasa Ramanuja Charyar Swamigal said Alwars did not bother about materialistic world and dedicated their lives to the cause of devotion and Tamil. Madurai Argarajan spoke about Pei Alwar, Bhoothath Alwar and others on the occasion. Industrialist and Tamil Isai Sangam secretary A C Muthaiah proposed a vote of thanks. |
