.
President of India Pratibha Patil has inaugurated a new 'annadhanam' complex in Tirumala.
.
A press release issued here yesterday said that the complex was established by  Raju Vegesna Foundation, a non-profit organisation, founded by chairman of Sify Technologies Raju Vegesna.

The release said the facility would be the largest of its kind in the country with a capacity to serve over one lakh pilgrims every day.

Named ‘Mathrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Nithyannadana Complex’, it  covers an area of 1.50 lakh square feet and is located right behind the main temple complex in Tirumala.

Every day, food would be served for a minimum of 10 hours. About 6,000 pilgrims can be served per batch and each batch would last about half an hour.

Speaking on the occasion, Raju Vegesna said, 'This is indeed a momentous occasion for us. We are deeply honoured that the President had consented to inaugurate the complex.'
The foundation would continually strive to contribute to socio-economic development of the country through its upcoming projects.
