She saw many physicians who suggested her with some hormones and anti-depressants. Despite the fear of taking hormones, she took them and the anti-depressants, but still felt miserable.
She was anxious, depressed, had low libido and was always tired. Physically she was gaining weight, feeling bloated, constipated, losing hair and was also having severe night sweats and hot flashes.
Well, what was this change that the woman was undergoing? This is nothing but menopause which every woman undergoes after a certain age. Menopause is the time in a woman's life when her periods stop.
It is a normal part of aging. During the menopause a female hormones go up and down causing symptoms of vaginal dryness and hot flashes. To get relief from these symptoms one can undergo Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).
Hormone Replacement Therapy is not only used during menopause but is also used to treat diabetes in women. Diabetes is a condition where the body does not produce sufficient insulin. Insulin is a hormone which is produced in the pancreas (gland) and controls blood glucose (sugar) levels. In addition to this HRT, eating healthy foods and getting regular exercise will help in bone loss and healthy heart muscle.
The lady then visited doctors who advised her to go through HRT. So what is Hormone Replacement Therapy all about?
Dr Ali Mohammed, chairman of American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine's explains, 'We at our centre produce hormones identical to the ones that produced by our bodies and substitute them as replacing with animal derived hormones can have significant side-effects. This is also known as Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. These hormones are produced from plant hormones, which are modified chemically to be identical to our hormones.'
He further clarifies, 'Human hormones in human are safe in right dosages. We did a complete work-up for the woman, including extensive blood work, and discovered her specific hormonal deficiencies. We prescribed individualised, compounded, bio-identical hormones, counselled her on nutrition, exercise and stress control.
A few months later, she was back to her old self - cheerful, energetic, lost weight, hair and skin glowing.'
American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine's (A4M) is a medical society dedicated to the advancement of technology to prevent, detect, and treat aging related diseases. With A4M one can slow down the aging process and thereby eliminate 50 per cent of all diseases overnight.
