LOOKING FOR PERFECTION: Action at the world cup is hotting up. England and Ireland square off in a Super
Eight match later today and players of the two sides were involved in strenuous training sessions while holders
Australia despite their recent performances are not taking practice lightly.

THE FACE OF THE NATION TODAY: Some dreams die young. India’s in the
2007 cricket World Cup is certainly among them. A nation of over billion lost its
sleep watching, and later agonising over it, as India failed to win against
Sri Lanka. The visages of Indian cricketers tell the tale.

SAYING IT IN SILENCE AND CELEBRATING IN STYLE: The contrast is pretty obvious.
Zimbabwe and West Indies players stand in silence as a mark of respect to Bob Woolmer
who died on Sunday. (Right). But life has to move on and it did. Indian players celebrate
a happy moment against Bermuda last night.

FACES OF WINNING AND LOSING: The visage of the Irish fans and that of Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq tell the tale vividly.
PAT ON PATRICK’S DAY: The Irish players cannot control their delight after scalping yet another Pakistani batsmen.

'IRE’LAND MUST BE 'HAPPY’LAND: Irish players are delighted after
they tied their World Cup game against Zimbabwe early Friday morning.

WINNERS’ HUG IS ALWAYS WARM: The West Indies players are jumping with joy as they put it past Pakistan
in the inaugural match of the cricket World Cup at Jamaica early Wednesday morning.

It does not get any bigger than this. Cricket’s showpiece event-the World Cup,
kicked off, officially in the Caribbean early Monday with a spectacular ceremony.
The legendary West Indian all-rounder Gary Sobers declared the tournament
open after performances by various artistes and a display of fireworks. Now, it is
over to the players as Pakistan and the host (West Indies) get things
rolling tomorrow.
