AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Nothing unusal about it

(Thee Nagar)

After coming out with offbeat films such as Kokki and Karuppasamy Kuthagaikarar, Karan goes on the usual mode. He has opted to play the macho man, a one-man army, taking on an evil police officer.

Unfortunately, the movie offers nothing new and the sequences are very predictable.

Debutant director Thirumalai is inspired by films like Dhil and Ayudha Ezhuthu in dishing out an action-packed film in Thee Nagar. The scenes unfold very quickly and fail to strike a chord with the audience. Karan has tried his best to live up to the role of an angry young man. Good in action sequences, Karan appears in flashy costumes shaking his legs in songs.

Udhayathara fits the bill as a college girl, who falls for the 'do-gooder' Karan. Shanmugarajan, as a corrupt police officer, runs behind Karan to take revenge on him.

The story revolves around 'Yamaha' Murugan (Karan), a former college chairman, who enjoys good patronage among college students in Chennai. Unable to find a prospective job after he passes out, he sets up a tea shop in front of his college. Life goes on smoothly until he comes across FIR Murthy, a corrupt policeman. A wordy duel between the two shatters Murugan's peaceful life. Though Murugan wants to stay away from all controversy, Murthy is after him.

Nadhiya (Udayathara), a college girl, falls for Murugan's selfless attitude. Eventually Murugan has to take up the cudgels against Murthy in his battle for survival.

Kadhal Sukumar, 'Scissor' Manohar, Meera Krishnan, Fathima Babu are also in the cast. Samiksha appears for an item number.

Jassie Gift makes his debut as a music director and has come up with peppy beats quite typical to his image. Had Thirumalai concentrated more on the screenplay lacing it with more twists and turns, the end product would have been different.
