Amidst action-packed films in Kollywood these days, veteran director S A Chandrasekharan has chosen to be different by coming up with a romantic entertainer. Other than this, the movie fails to live up to expectations.
Though the director has attempted to pep up proceedings as the story gathers momentum, the movie falls flat in the second half and the sequences are far too predictable. Yet, the director with a total of 62 films under his belt so far, deserves a pat for an honest try.
The actor Naren, who managed to make a mark in Chithiram Pesuthadi has continued his good run. Though he does not fit the role of an auto-driver, his performance as an angry man fighting for a cause in a hospital towards the climax deserves appreciation.
Debutant Deepa has nothing much to do. Also in the cast are 'Ganja' Karuppu, Kalai Rani, 'Thalaivasal' Vijay, Sriman, Nasser and Mahadevan.
Ganesan (Naren), comes across Bhuvana (Deepa), daughter of a rich industrialist Rangasamy Naidu (Mahadevan). After a series of clashes, both fall in love. Yearning for love and affection from her father, a busy entrepreneur, Bhuvana decides to leave home to start a new life with Ganesan.
A few days prior to the wedding, she meets with an accident. Ganesan runs from pillar-to-post to collect Rs 10 lakh needed to carry out a heart transplant to save Bhuvana's life. When his efforts to collect money fail to yield result, a desperate Ganesan holds patients in the emergency ward of the hospital hostage and demands that the doctors perform the operation free of cost. Does he succeed in saving the life of his beloved forms the climax.
With more support from the music director and technical crew, Chandrasekharan would have been served better.
