AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

More of a mind game than the number

(Ocean's Thirteen)

That revenge is not the only thing in mind makes viewing the slick happening an enjoyable experience. Fun-filled for the best part with a smattering of simple lines to send across the message, the orchestrated gang has a whale of a time.

Directed by Steven Soderbergh, the movie revolves around Danny Ocean and his coterie, having taken their ire against a double crossing casino supremo - Willy Bank is the name. Bank has the cheek to construct a casino, using the cushion of Reuben Tishkoff's land to pursue his dream. That Reuben happened to be Danny Ocean's best buddy was something Bank had not bargained for.

In a mind game, Danny and his faithfuls go one up on Bank. The strategy is to hit the offender below on the belt - ruin him financially by making all those who play the game of dice win a fortune on the inaugural day. The other smart idea is to make a dent on Bank's pride factor - to get at the Royal Review Board's Five Diamond Award bestowed on him..

It is a mind boggling plot but the way it unfolds is the key. Danny's punchlines and the ease with which the top elements get into the task give the teething edge. The adroit background score and the huge snap shots of the buildings in Nevada and California are the added lustre.

That is, if you have the patience to sit through the painful opening frames, dull and insipid. Mercifully, the momentum picks up and stays that way.
