AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

A job well done

(Thagappansamy)

Debutant director Shivashanmugham's well directed story backed by a smooth-flowing script give an engrossing look to the overall product.

Featuring Prashanth as protagonist, the movies deals about bonded labour, not touched in the annals of Tamil cinema.

An one-time associate of director Hari, Shivashanmugham has relied upon good characterisations and their realistic portrayals on screen. Prashanth, with a dismal run behind him, has given his best. Underplaying the emotions, he is at ease performing the role, lending solidity with his voice modulations.

Shedding the glamour tag is Pooja, coming up with varied emotions meeting the demand of the role. An impressive cameo by Namitha complete the good work of the lead artistes. The rest of the cast including Karunaas and Mahadevan among others play their part well.

The drought-hit Parapati village people live with hope that Kadhirvel (Prashanth) will bail them out of trouble. Kadhirvel is in dire straits but do his best to provide succour to the needy. When all his efforts fail, the villagers become bonded labourers. They are forced to work in a farmland in Rajasthan for meagre wages. How Kadhirvel rescue them and bring them back to their native form the crux.

All credit to the director for the gripping storyline and the narration of events in an interesting way. The eyesore is the portrayal of Vincent Ashokan, as the cliched baddie. Srikanth Deva's tunes remind one of his father's earlier work. In the company of Shivashanmugham, Prashanth has managed to cast a spell and leave an impression.
