Redefining maths for school students

        Chrysaalis i-Math India Pvt Ltd, in collaboration with Edu-link Academy of Malaysia, has introduced 'Math-lab program', an easy teaching methodology in mathematics for primary school students. Briefing reporters about the program, marketing director of Chrysaalis Sudhakar said, 'our main focus will be on redefining mathematics from a confusing maze of numbers which result in the child succumbing to the dreaded path of phobia to a broader perspective of problem solving and enhance creativity through abstract learning'.

        The math- lab program, designed for students between 4 and 8 years, aims at infusing the maths- learning process with colour, joy and lively interaction with well- designed 125 mathematical concepts, he said. 'This curriculum, approved by child psychologists and educationalist, will teach abstract facts in mathematics using tangible products, which in turn will help the child to realise innate creativity', Sudhakar added.

        The company will extend its program to number of schools in Chennai at a cost of Rs 23,300 per year, along with a kit consisting of grid plates, geometrical foam blocks, Tangram and coloured stickers.
