Nine-year old artist S Thanekaivel,
a student of Chettinad Vidhyashram, has sketched vivid drawings using paint
on canvas at a three day exhibition titled Dewdrops held in Alwarpet here
recently.

Displaying his work in a creative way, Thanekaivel said he used to scribble on the walls with just chalk and crayons from the age of three. His parents who identified his talent got him lot of colouring books motivating him to shine as a young artist.
Constant encouragement from the school and parents have been tuning him to participate in many art competitions and art events.
He has won prizes both at the State and national level competitions. His father M Suresh Kumar and mother Sumathi explained that he was equally adept at studies, elocution and other literary activities.
This young artist who has chosen art as prime activity in the school joined Shrishti School to further enhance his drawing skills. On of the displays at the exhibition, Ten Avatars which was not just finely drawn, but delighted the onlooker with its rich colours and delineation.
Appropriate selection of colours with right placement and density have made Thanekaivel's portraits a visual delight for the spectators. The art exhibition was inaugurated by cartoonist Madan recently.
