Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) jointly with the business region of Goteborg, Sweden and Embassy of Sweden, is organising the 'India - Sweden Business Forum' tomorrow in Chennai.
Maud Olofsson, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Enterprise & Energy, Sweden would deliver the keynote address at the forum.
Dayanidhi Maran, Union Minister of Commu-nications and IT will inaugurate the meet. R Seshasayee, president, CII and managing director, Ashok Leyland Limited will address the session.
A 50 -member high-level business delegation including CEO's from Ericsson, SAAB, SKF, BAE Systems SWS Defense, Viking Shipping, Volvo and SSAB among others will also accompany the Deputy Prime Minister of Sweden to Chennai.
The key objective of the business forum is to identify and present various opportunities for collaboration between Indian and Swedish companies across different sectors. The forum will showcase the emerging opportunities in Sweden for Indian companies and identify areas / sectors where Swedish companies can work in India with their counterparts.
The forum would deliberate on the emerging scope for strengthening the bilateral in key sectors like automotive and auto components, Information Technology, textiles, shipping, ports, chemicals, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, plastics, electronics, food processing, light and heavy engineering industries, small and medium enterprises and tourism.
A special plenary session on Indo-Sweden business linkages forms part of the meet with the participation of Rakesh Makhija, MD, SKF India, Mats Granryd, managing director, Ericsson India, Percy Barnevik, Hand in Hand, K Raghavendra Rao, managing director, Orchid Chemical and Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
The forum will also feature
special parallel sessions focusing on ICT, automotive and biotechnology
sectors.
