Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today said only world-class infrastructure would help attract large scale investments.
Addressing media persons here, the Gujarat Chief Minister said the recently held 'Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit' was a grand success.
A total of 352 MoUs were signed which brought an investment of Rs 4.6 lakh crore, he said and added the summit was attended by honchos of many MNCs and captains of the Indian industry.
The investment decisions of leading companies would propel the State towards achieving greater heights, he exuded his confidence.
Stressing that an infrastructure with global benchmarks was essential to attract investments, Modi said, 'mere slogans would not convince investors.'
The key element of the infrastructure development is the new P2P (Port to Production) integrated concert, which would integrate the State's maritime strength with modern developments with private participation, Modi said.
Explaining that a key dimension of the strategy was to build port-based SEZs with linkages of warehouses, cold storage ad transportation networks which would be globally competitive.
'The 1,600 kilometer of the Gujarat coastline would be a gateway of prosperity for India in the world trade'.
Stating that so far 33 SEZs have been approved, he pointed out that not a single case of controversy had emerged so far.
Gujarat has enacted SEZ Act and it is the only State to have less than 0.5 per cent man-days lost with peaceful labour.
Modi also said that the State
government's efforts towards gas-petro energy exploration at the KG Basin
of Andhra Pradesh coastline and elsewhere were a great success.
