Rotaract Club hosts Larzius 2007

Mambalam, P Parthasarathy distributing 
prizes to students in Chennai recently.

        The Rotaract Club of Easwari Engineering College, Ramapuram, a constituent of the SRM Group of Institutions, hosted 'Larzius 2007' on 23 and 24 January 2007 for students from Standard VI to XII.

        More than 800 students drawn from over 40 schools participated in the two-day inter-school competitions.

        There were science exhibitions, maths olympiad and oratorical competitions held, which provided a common platform for students to exhibit their leadership qualities, innovative ideas and creative talents.

        Most of the exhibits revolved around the pressing needs of today's society such as energy and water conservation.

        R Adithyan and his team mates from Sri Sitaram Vidhyalaya were the winners at the level I competition, held for standard VI to VII students, for their exhibit on generation of energy through waste reclamation, N.Vaishnav and his team mates from Chinmaya Vidyalaya at the level II competitions, held for standard IX to X students, for their exhibit on automated electrification of villages by solar energy, Sharan and his team mates from Chettinad Vidyashram at the level III competition, held for XI to XII students, for their exhibit 'Frict-ora' (Frictionless).

        Retired senior advocate of the Madras High Court R.Gandhi inaugurated Larzius 2007 and former charter president of the Rotary Club of Chennai, Mambalam, P Parthasarathy distributed the prizes.
