at the marriage function today.

Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) leader Vijayakanth today volunteered to disclose his property accounts with a challenging proviso — let DMK leader and Chief Minister M Karunanidhi too do so.

Not done with this challenge, Vijayakanth also sounded the bugle for a big fight, claiming that the DMDK would be the next party to rule Tamilnadu.

Speaking at the marriage function of former Minister Ponnuswamy's daughter Priya with Vetrivel at Manapparai near here today, he said it was for the first time in the Indian political history that a party has been targetted by ruling party by instigating IT raids. 'The DMK alone is responsible for the IT raids at my premises, educational institutions and business establishments. The raids at DMDK party offices were similar to the raids held at Communist party offices during Hitler's regime. The ruling DMK was unable to digest the growth of DMDK and the DMK leader has stooped to such a level in playing low,' Vijayakanth thundered.

'Will the IT officials conduct raids at DMK headquarters Anna Arivalayam and its allies', he questioned and said that he extended full cooperation to the IT officials during the raids.

Taking a dig at the ruling DMK, he said that even after complaints that the State Election Commissioner D Chandrasekaran, DGP D Mukherjee and City Police Commissioner Letika Saran were a silent spectators during the large scale violence during the Chennai Corporation polls, the State government was hesitating to transfer them.

Pointing a finger against the State government for its lackadaisical attitude in the implementation of welfare schemes for the benefit of the poor and needy, Vijayakanth said that instead of taking any step on this count, the DMK government was focusing on distributing free televisions since they wanted to cash in on this by extending cable connections through their cable TV network. 'The free gas scheme is just to hoodwink the public.'

Categorically stating that DMDK would be the next party to rule Tamilnadu, he said that the DMK unable to digest the growth of the DMDK and had used unfair means to purchase DMDK party functionaries by offering a huge amount. 'In this connection, a DMK Minister from Tiruchi had miserably failed in his attempt to woo DMDK partymen,' he added.

DMKDK presidium chairman Panruti Ramachandran, former Minister K P Krishnan, DMDK's State Youth Wing leader L K Sutheesh were among those who attended the marriage function.
