        Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today announced bonus to the staff of the government on the eve of Pongal in keeping with the budgetary announcements.

        An official release here said A and B category officials would be given a special bonus of Rs 825 and C and D category would be paid a bonus commensurate with wages paid for 30 days. Besides this, pensioners and family pensioners would be given a Pongal gift of Rs 150, the release added.
