        The entrance examination results for B Tech programmes conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) was declared today.

        Garimella Jagannadh Kashyap from Vishakapatnam secured the top rank in the examination while Naga Vamsi Krishna Talupula from Eluru secured second rank.

        Over 88,000 students had appeared in the entrance examination held across 41cities in India on 15 April.

        The counselling for batch-1, from rank one to 1000 will be held on 21 May at 9 am at VIT premises. For batch-2, (rank 1001 to 2000), counselling will be held on 23 May. Likewise counselling sessions are also fixed for students ranking upto 5000. As announced earlier, the list of 50 candidates from Tamilnadu and 50 candidates from other States will receive a scholarship of Rs 25,000 under the 'GV School Development Programme.
