Ford rolls out new variant

launch of midsize sedan 'Ford Fiesta Fida edition' in Chennai, on Tuesday. 

        In a bid to enhance its market presence, Ford India launched the limited edition of its popular selling midsize sedan Ford Fiesta Fida edition in Chennai.

        Unveiling the new variant, Scott McCormack, vice-president, marketing and sales, Ford India said,'the new Ford Fiesta 1.6 Fida Edition is equipped with a 1.6 litre duratec engine and offers features such as intelligent rear de-fogger, front fog lamps, programmable keyless entry and trip computer.

        He said that they expect good response to the new variant and the limited edition would be available till November 2007. And the Fida Edition will offer customers who look for superior technology with sporty and adventurous look.

        Detailing about the salient features of the new range, he said the model is much ahead of the 'Zxi' variant which comes with a 1.6 litre duratec (petrol) hi-tech engine.

        The car comes with alloy wheels, Scott said and added that the car would go 0-100km/h in less than 12 seconds.

        Since the company's launch of this popular model in November 2005, Ford India has 55,000 cars on road and hoped that the new variant would attract more customers. The car is priced at Rs 6,60,000 (ex-showroom Chennai) and will be available only in two colours - Copper Rust and Panther Black.
