        A ten-day NSS camp is being held for villagers of Kancheepuram district by Valliammai Engineering College at Kattankulathur from 22 August.

        One of the main features of the NSS camp is to hold several medical screening in Karuneelam village and provide free treatment to the villagers in collaboration with the SRM Medical College at Kattankulathur.

        The other features of the camp are to train village youth in computer and electrical services, besides creating a social awareness.

        M Balasubramanian, principal, Valliammai Engineering College, inaugurated the NSS camp at the Kattankulathur Union Middle School on 22 August.

        S Chelladurai, NSS coordinator at Anna University and S Chandrasekharan, primary education officer at Kattankulathur, students, teachers and villagers took part in the inaugural session of the camp.
