AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

A view from the top

A three-day exhibition of a selection of photographs from Nicholas Chorier's book, 'Kite's Eye View India Between the Earth and the Sky' is on display from today at the AFM Gallery, Chennai.

Aerial photography is prohibited in India. It can only be done with permission from various government agencies. For the first time, Nicholas Chorier achieves this feat by using the fascinating technique of kite photography (taking aerial pictures by using a kite to lift the camera).

There are unique and spectacular views of the wonders of India, jewels such as Amber Fort, Mehrangarh Fort, Nagaur Fort, Pushkar, Chittorgarh, and the Taj Mahal at the exposition.

Chorier has been an exponent of kite photography for over 10 years. He has used the technique in the fields of agronomy research, archaeology, tourism, national heritage surveys, and wildlife documentaries. Chorier has shot extensively all over the world.
