An elderly person being screened at a free diabetes camp organised by M V Centre for Diabetes in Chennai yesterday.

        M V Centre for Diabetes, Mylapore, in association with Kalyana Nagar Association conducted a free diabetes awareness and screening camp at Mandavelipakkam recently.

        More than 250 people benefited from the camp, they were screened for blood pressure, waist and blood sugar levels.

        In addition there was a diet exhibition that showcased and stressed the importance of eating nutritious food on time to stay fit.

        President of Kalyana Nagar Association R Vardarajan and medical fraternities from MV Hospital for Diabetes were present.

        With the focus on health, the MV Centre has also conducted three such free diabetes detection, prevention and education camps for the police personnel in the city, a press release said.
