        Security has been tightened at Tirumala Hills following the twin blasts at Hyderabad on Saturday evening that claimed over 40 lives.

        At Alipiri, the entry point from Tirupati - Tirumala on the Second Ghat Road, special protection force along with TTDs vigilance wing and State Police teams have been deployed in large numbers. Each and every vehicle coming to the holy town is being thoroughly checked.

        A special bomb squad has been deployed in Tirumala. Devotees were permitted into the temple after a thorough check-up. Metal detectors have been installed at the Vaikuntam queue complex.

        TTDs Vigilance Guard Officer (VGO) Sudharkar said the temple management has made elaborate security arrangements and tightened security in and around the temple.
