The Local Advisory Committee (LAC) of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Information Centre (TTDIC) has announced the launch of a new initiative to help 'Divya Desam Temples (108 Vaishnavaite temples)' that are facing a difficulty in running their day-to-day functioning.
At a programme here on Wednesday. TTD said it would work along with SMILE (Selfless Movement Improving Life Everywhere), a city-based NGO in this regard. As a part of this initiative, TTDIC would identify the Divya Desam Temples that require support and send them the articles collected from the devotees.
C N Paramasivan, member of LAC, speaking to mediapersons on the occasion, said SMILE and TTD had already identified 15-20 temples the condition of which were very critical and need immediate help to enable them to run their day-to-day activities. He also said articles like vasthrams, daily pooja and prasadam provisions would be collected from the devotees and sent to these temples requiring help.
No cash donations would be accepted under this initiative, he added. He also said devotees can make monthly or annual contributions of articles and vasthrams. Devotees can directly approach the temples and give their contributions and those who cannot go to the temples can approach the TTD Centre or the Office of SMILE and give their contributions.
And SMILE would send the
contributions to temples in need. For further details in this regard and
