AIADMK today brought a no-confidence motion again State Assembly Speaker Avudaiyappan. However, the date on which the motion would be taken up for discussion will be decided at the Business Advisory Committee meeting to be held later today.
AIADMK Deputy Leader of Opposition O Paneerselvam proposed the no-confidence motion. Senior AIADMK leader D Jayakumar urged the House to take it up for discussion after 14 days.
Intervening, Minister for Information Parithi Illamvazhuthi asked as why do the Opposition members want to stick to rules while bringing a no-confidence motion when they did not follow procedures for bringing call attention or an adjournment motion.
Intervening, the Chief Minister said he had received information that the opposition was planning to take up the motion on 11 May.
It may be noted here that
the House would be witnessing a grand function on 11 May to commemorate
the golden jubilee year of Karunanidhi in the State Assembly.
