        A former MLA's brother was killed in a hit-and- run incident last evening.

        Police said Ramu (33), a brother of former MLA Ravi Raj of Lakshmipuram at Puzhal, engaged in real estate business, was riding a two-wheeler towards Manali on 200 Feet Road when a lorry knocked him down.

        He sustained serious head injury and was taken to Stanley Hospital where doctors declared him 'brought dead.'

        Madhavaram police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the runaway lorry driver. Ramu is survived by wife Pushpa, a daughter Swetha and a son Prabhakaran.
