        A woman prisoner, who was admitted to Government Royapettah Hospital for failing health, died yesterday.

        According to police, Vasantha, 69, was imprisoned in Tiruchy jail during 1999 in connection with a Trichendur murder case and was shifted to Puzhal prison later.

        As her health condition was deteriorating, she was admitted to the Royapettah Hospital two months ago and she died yesterday without responding to the treatment. Puzhal police are investigating.
