        State Health Minister K K S S R Ramachandran today said that the counselling for admissions to medical courses will be conducted between 2 - 8 July.

        Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat, the Minister said application forms for students seeking admissions to medical colleges will be issued from 28 May to 15 June. The rank list would be published on 22 June and classes are expected to commence from 1 August, he said.

        The Health Minister said that 1,645 medical seats were available in Tamilnadu this year which also includes seats under All India quota.

        Further, the Minister said that steps would be taken against private colleges if there were complaints against them for collecting donations or excess money over and above what was prescribed by the government as admission fees for medical courses.
