In her week-long stay in Chennai, Sandrine who is also a consultant for Schwarkopf trained more than 15 staff of Naturals on a wide range of hairdressing that includes that latest trends in cutting, colouring and styling formats for a facial make-over. In his opening remarks before the ramp walk, Ashok Namboodiri, country manager, Shwarzkopf Professionals, informed the objective of the event was to make everyone look beautiful through hairstyles. ‘Our Summer Looks hair cut and colour show is inspired by a popular event Essential Looks in the fashion circuit of Europe where global models compete. Recently, such an event was unveiled in Mumbai and Schwarzkopf will have road show across markets in India to popularise this concept and its range of hair colouring and salon products in the region,’ he said.
Further, he said Naturals,
an unisex salon and spa, has pioneered the concept of hairstyles in Chennai
for over decades and Schwarzkopf was keen to associate with them for mutual
benefit. Being a professional art, Namboodiri said, hairstyling should
be encouraged and deserved an industry platform.
C K Rajkumar, the chief of Velvet, complimented the role played by
Kumaravel and Veena in popularising the shampoo and haircare products in
sachet forms through their salons in Chennai. TV artiste Vijay Adhiraj
said Naturals has been part of his extended family and heaped praise on
Sandrine for her works in Tamil movies directed by Shankar.
With seven branches in Chennai, Naturals was set up by Veena in 2000 and has a large clientele from film industry including the leading actors and actresses. ‘Today hairdressing has become a style quotient for celebrities and significant people. People are ready to experiment with new hairstyles and willing to pay the price for quality services. French stylist Sandrine has trained our staff who are all now geared to cut and curl our clients’ hairdo,’ said Veena.
Ramp models showcased their hairstyle for three songs from films Boys, Anniyan and Sivaji, all directed by Shankar in which Sandrine did the make-over for the leading actors, to the overwhelming cheers of the audience. Coiffure specialist also presented certificates to staff of Naturals who had been trained by her.
