Arterial roads to be blocked tomorrow

Chennai, Jan 25:

        The Chennai City Traffic Police will be diverting traffic on the Kamarajar Salai in view of Republic Day celebrations to be held there tomorrow.

        The stretch of Kamarajar Salai from Light House up to War Memorial and Dr Radhakrishnan Salai from Dr Natesan Road junction up to Gandhi statue will be closed for all vehicular traffic, other than the vehicles issued with passes from 6 a.m. till the closure of the Republic Day function, said an official press release.

        The vehicles coming from North Chennai and intending to proceed towards Mylapore and Adyar will have to take the Anna Salai, Pattulous Road, Royapettah Tower Clock road, Royapettah High Road, Royapettah one point, Royapettah Flyover and R K Mutt Road tommorow. Similarly vehicles coming from South Chennai will also take the same route in the reverse direction.

        The vehicles with yellow colour car passes can be parked at the DGP's office before 7.30 am. Vehicles with green and blue colour car passes can be parked at the Queen Mary's college compound and Foreshore Road near the Light House respectively before 7.30 am.

        Vehicles without car passes can be parked at the National Scout Training School compound on Kamarajar Salai and near the Seeranai Arangam on Foreshore Road before 7.30 am, the release added.
