        Renown cardio-thoraic surgeon Dr K M Cherian was awarded with the doctorate of science degree from the King George Medical University.

        Governor and Chnacellor of King George Medical University T V Rajeswar addressed the gathering at the third convocation ceremony. 'This medical university is the fifth largest university in the country. The doctors who have passed out from here have done excellent work in the field of science and have received many prestigious awards,' he said.

        Dr Naresh Trehan of Escort Heart Institute and Research Centre and chief radiologist and director Sudershan K Agarwhal of Dr Diwanchand Satyapal Agarwhal Imaging Centre were the other two doctors who were also honoured with doctorates of science degree at the same function.
