        In reaching out to the needs of customers, Canara Bank has opened 5 ATMs in Chennai city yesterday.

        The ATMs were opened at Tiruvanmiyur, Mogappair, Sholinganallur, Velacherry and G N Chetty Road.

        With this, the total number of ATMs in and around Chennai has increased to 89. Canara Bank has proposed to increase its ATM population to 125 by March 2007. It will also open 21 ATMs attached to railway stations in and around Chennai.

        Canara Bank ATMs are networked to accept ATMs of 22 other banks with whom they have entered into agreements.
