        A man committed suicide by setting himself ablaze at Chintadripet here yesterday after his wife refused to give him money to drink.

        Police said Chinnadurai (40), who was eking out a living selling scrap, was a chronic drinker. On that fateful day, he picked up quarrel with his wife demanding money for a drink. Following his wife's refusal to part with money, he poured kerosene on himself and set himself ablaze. His wife admitted him to Government Kilpauk Hospital with serious burn injuries but he died.

        Chintadripet police have registered a case in this connection.
