The Chennai leg of the TNCA Boost Cricket Cup 2007, the premier National under-17 tournament is set to commence.
U Prabhakar Rao, vice-president, Tamilnadu Cricket Association (TNCA), told reporters here Thursday that a total of 56 schools are participating in the Chennai Intra-City Challenge for the C Ramaswami Trophy. The teams will play each other on a knockout basis and the top eight will be divided into two zones and will fight it out in a round-robin league.
The winning team will take home Rs 18,000. The Boost Intra-city Challenge kicked off with the Bangalore leg, followed by Chennai after which it moves to other districts in Tamilnadu, Hyderabad, Baroda, Delhi, Punjab and Mumbai.
Tamilnadu will see competition
in six cities — Coimbatore, Salem, Tiruchi, Nagapattinam, Pudukottai and
Cuddalore apart from Chennai.
