Chennai, Aug 25:
Real estate company DLF has clinched a deal to develop an integrated township on 95 acres in Durgapur. The public - private partnership (PPP) envisaged by the Asansol Durgapur Development Authority (ADDA) is expected to attract investment up to Rs 4,000 crore and is to be completed in four years.
Based on cross-subsidy model, Durgapur project would cater to all segments and would include a Cooperative Housing Plots, a residence for low, middle and high income groups as well as bungalows, individual plots, commercial and retail space. DLF would utilise the services of leading architects and engineering firms to design the township which would have large green space, wide roads, attractive retail and commercial space, a social club with swimming pool, gymnasium, tennis court, card-room and entertainment zone.
The township would have measures to protect environment like solar lights, rain water harvesting and recycling, and sewage treatment plant. There were nearly 30 companies which submitted their Expression of Interest (EOI). However, only DLF could bag the real-estate project. The group with its plans to capitalise on market opportunity and provide high-end facilities through its proven expertise would join hands with ADDA to translate its vision into reality.
With this project, DLF had reinforced its commitment for West Bengal. The company is developing nearly 5,000 acres of township and a textile SEZ at Dankumi, two IT parks at Rajarhat, luxury and budget hotels and service apartment in Kolkata.
DLF is also developing its first IT SEZ in Nagpur over a 140-acre land. This is the second IT SEZ project in the State and would be followed by projects in other cities in Maharashtra. The IT park at Mihan - Nagpur is fully equipped to house any IT and ITeS major for a 24x7 operation. The SEZ project would have an investment of Rs 1,000 crore and expected to become operational in three years and the project has the potential to generate 50,000 jobs, both directly and indirectly.
DLF IT Park in Nagpur is
part of MIHAN (multi-modal international hub airport in Nagpur) SEZ being
set up as per the master plan comprising IT city, healthy city, a captive
power plant and other manufacturing and value-added units. Over the decades,
DLF properties had emerged as the preferred destination for both Indian
as well as MNCs apart from leading IT, ITeS firms due to its cost-effective
office space and best in class infrastructure.
