        It was a journey down the memory lane for many yesteryear actresses as a VCD on actress Padmini was launched in Chennai Sunday.

        Speaking after releasing the CD, noted actress Saroja Devi said she was introduced to Padmini by former Chief Minister M G Ramachandran on the sets of Nadodi Mannan.

        ‘I was stunned by her beauty. Later, our friendship lasted for decades. We had a separate room for her in our Bangalore house and I used to stay with her whenever I visited the United States,’ she said.Saroja Devi also said Padmini could play any character with ease with her unmatched acting skills and excellent dancing talent.

        ‘Tamil cinema will never see such a riveting performance like that of Padmini’. In his address, noted producer A V M Saravanan said Padmini was an eternal artist and she mastered both dance and acting.

        Others participated in the function include South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce president KRG, M N Rajam, Sachu, Vijayakumar, Manjula Vijayakumar, Venniradai Nirmala, Rajesh and Shaam.

        The VCD, which was brought out by Insight Media features milestones in the life of the legendary actress.
