        All Service Tax payers have been asked to pay the tax on or before 31 March, 2007 instead of 5th of next month/ quarter in other months. The payment can be made at any of the authorised branches of banks.

        The tax-payers are requested to ensure that they deposit the service tax on or before the due date.

        Any delayed payment would attract penalty besides interest at 13 per cent per annum, according to Commissioner of Service Tax. As per law, Service Tax, on the taxable value including advance / adhoc payament received should be paid by 31 March.
