        While girls desire to adorn a Western attire, the elders in the family would like them to wear traditional dresses to suit the occasions, like weddings, receptions and social get-togethers. Denim silk saree is a product in denim texture that are handwoven in pure silk — a blend of east and west. That is a Western look with a touch of Indian tradition.

'To entice young girls to wear the saree and also keep the Indian tradition alive in the midst of the need to look trendy, we thought of making this silk saree with a jean look,' says P J Ravi of Sri Kumaran Stores.

        This thought led the managers of the store to experiment on this novel concept. After four months of effort, 'our designers and master weavers from the research wing have come up with this new concept,' informs Ravi. Being a new creation in handloom silk, the denim saree is a fruit of laborious design and efforts by master craftsmen.

        Over the years, Sri Kumaran Stores has to its credit many innovative products like 3D saree, colour changing saree, pocket saree and handbang saree, among others, all of which enthused their regular customers and first timers alike.

        Denim sarees are available in different shades of blue to suit all occasions. Exciting ranges from a price point of Rs 9,000 and above have find many takers at Sri Kumaran Stores.
