        St Joseph's BC edged out Writer BC 57-55 in a thrilling men's match yesterday in the 22nd annual State-level basketball tournament for the All Star Trophy being held here.

        With 35 seconds to go for the final whistle, Writer BC was leading 55 - 52. However, with 20 seconds left for the final whistle, Nikhil of St Joseph's BC scored a three-point shot and levelled the scores at 55. Prince David sealed the match in favour of St Joseph's with just four seconds left for the final whistle with two free throws.

        Results — Women: Vayudooth BC 62 (Lakshmi Devi 28, Prabha 15, Selva Jansi 10) beat Physiocare BC 43 (Aishwarya 12, Malarvizhi 15).

        Jeppiar BC 61 (Riya C Jose 24, Deepitha S Prasad 14, Teena Annie Thomas 13, Victoria P Mathew 10) beat IOB All Star BC 47 (Priya 15, Mahalakshmi 14, Kalai Arasi 10).

        Men: St Joseph's BC 57 (Prince David 23, Jose 10, Kevin 10) beat Writer BC 55 (Joshua Cyrus 15, Rajasekar 12, Sharli Kumar 12, Royson 10).

        Sports Hostel of Excellance 62 (Ananda Krishnan 14, Periya Rajan 12) beat Sixers BC 25 (Naveen Kumar 11, Gnaniar 10).
