Chennai, Dec 24:
Muslims should not depend too much on the government for their social and educational uplift, Prince of Arcot Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali has said.
Speaking at an International Education Conference organised by the American Federation of Muslims of Indian origin in Chennai yesterday, the Arcot Prince appealed to the Muslim community not to aim for a backward or most backward class tag given by the government, but to develop their own potentialities.
Stating that the community was neglecting its own duties by depending on the government, the Prince said education was the key to growth and reminded that an educationally backward community would never progress.
Coming down heavily on terrorism,
the Prince said it had caused great damage to the nation's image. He also
said no religion in the earth preached violence and urged the public to
live in peace and harmony like one family.
