AIADMK party members led by their general secretary J Jayalalithaa today took oath, at former Chief Minister and the party founder M G Ramachandran's memorial, to form a new front as an alternative to the Central government and also usher in AIADMK rule in the State soon.
After praying floral tributes at the leader's memorial on his death anniversary here, Jayalalithaa and other party veterans including former Ministers O Pannerselvam, K A Sengottaiyan, D Jayakumar, MLAs S VE Shekar, P K Sekarbabu and hundreds of party workers took oath to form an alternative front to the Union government under the leadership of Jayalalithaa.
They also took oath to bring back the AIADMK rule in Tamilnadu and to get rid of those who got victory by murdering democracy in the civic polls.
The AIADMK workers also condemned 'Tamil enemies' who were complicating the problems in the Mullaiperiyar issue for their 'own interests'.
Earlier, tributes were also
paid to the former Chief Minister by several parties including the MDMK,
the BJP, the Dravidar Kazhagam and the MGR Kazhagam.
