        A man murdered his wife by throwing a huge stone on her head and he is now on the run with the police spreading a dragnet for him.

        According to police, Babu of Arcot Thamaraikulam area was making a living by taking his cow around the village to collect alms. His wife Ellammal used to accompany him. When the couple was at Palamathimalai Thalankulam near here this morning, a tiff broke out between them. And Babu, in a fit of rage, hurled a huge rock on her head killing her instantaneously.

        Bhagayam police have registered a case in this connection and are on the lookout for Babu, who has fled.
