Leaders including Governor Surjit Singh Barnala, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa today greeted people on the eve of Christmas.
In his greetings, the Governor said Lord Jesus Christ preached compassion and love.
'Let us on this festival re-dedicate ourselves to uphold the spirit of brotherhood and harmony and promote peace and mutual affinity,' he said.
In his message, Karunanidhi said people should take a pledge to ensure peace, unity and tolerance, which were propagated by Jesus Christ.
AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa said Jesus Christ preached peace, patience and brotherhood while Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam leader and actor Vijaykanth, said his party was dedicated to the progress of mankind on this festive occasion.
TNCC president M Krishnasamy
wanted the people to adhere to the teachings of Christ, while Prince of
Arcot Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali said Christ as well as Prophet Mohammed
spread the common message of peace to entire mankind.
