Dr B Suresh, president, Pharmacy Council of India has called for employment of full fledged pharmacist in medical shops Participating at the 45th national Pharmacy Week at JSS College of Pharmacy on Monday, Suresh said in country like US, they employ only a pharmacist to dispense drugs at medical stores.
However, in India, a diploma holder in pharmacy is appointed. The job does not remain for a long period as they are less paid, he said.
Suresh said pharmaceutical industry has a good future where pharmaceutical products worth Rs 4,000 core are manufactured in
Tamilnadu alone which is 30 per cent of the national production. Earlier, Ooty MLA Gopal inaugurated the Pharmacy Week celebrations.
