        For the special child Salman Kabir it was a special moment at the Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Thursday evening. The prodigious talent with various awards under his belt had the opportunity to display his skating talent in front of Governor Surjit Singh Barnala.

        Kabir has a passion for skating attending regular classes at Sankalp and at Youngster Roller Skate Academy. The youngster's proficient skills warranted joining a special school (Sankalp Learning Centre).

        Since 2003 he has shown innate ability to read, write and spell English. Along the way he taught himself to read, write Tamil and translate simple words and sentences from English to Tamil and Urdu.

        The other feat of Kabir is in recollecting facts from memory and stating the day of the week when given the date and month of any year. Reading the road map and naming the streets in Chennai is child's play for him.
