Lieutenant N Partiban has
been awarded Kirti Chakra (Posthumous) on Wednesday for his brave and conspicuous
act by killing the armed terrorists.
According to an official press release, Partiban hailing from Pammal
was posted to 5 Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (5 JAK LI) for counter
insurgency operations.
In one of the operation last year, he along with his team attacked armed terrorists at Line of Control (LOC). The terrorists in turn fired at Partiban and he received bullet injuries. Despite being wounded, he killed two terrorists and died. A total of four terrorists were killed in the operations and heavy arms and ammunitions were recovered.
Tamilnadu Foundation of USA, Tamilnadu Chapter, will conduct a course on Computer Hardware Assembling Servicing and Cell Phone Servicing from 29 March.
According to a press release, the course is aimed at enriching the knowledge of the candidates and also to provide marketable and employable skills.
The course would be useful
for fresh and unemployed youth, housewives. The last date for registration

Customers who have planned to book a BSNL landline telephone connection can now opt the 'single window' system by calling 1500 or visiting the website www.chennai.bsnl.co.in.
According to a press release, the new facility is introduced from today and customers can use it for seeking broadband connection, complaints, change of plan and apply for service irrespective of the area they reside.
Also, Chennai Telephones
is now providing fixed line connection free of cost to individuals and
organisations whose average monthly bill is Rs 1,500 and above.
