Three of the four persons, who were involved in the murder of a car driver working for a travel agency recently, have surrendered in court while the other one is still at large.
Meanwhile, police decided to exhume the body of the driver at Vadalur village, near Thanjavur.
Recently, the unidentified body of a man was recovered by the police in Vadalur and it was established that it was that of a car driver whose vehicle was abandoned near Thanjavur.
In the meantime, the owner of the travel agency lodged a complaint stating that the driver Mayavan (26) had not returned along with the vehicle.
According to police, Senthamizharasu (19), a college student, a few days back, engaged a taxi from Red Hills and went to Mahabalipuram along with his friends Selvam (18), Thanikachalam (20) and Rajesh (21) of Kanniputhur near Ponneri. While on the trip, the four got drunk and Senthamizharasu took over the wheels and rammed the car into a tree.
This led to an argument with Mayavan and the four strangled him to death and dumped his body. And took the car away.
On nearing Thanjavur, the four left behind the car as it ran out of fuel and returned to Chennai by bus.
The three surrendered themselves
in court and Rajesh is the one at large and police are on the lookout for
him.

Villupuram, Mar 23:
A 17-year-old Plus-One student, the son of an AIADMK leader, died after a two-wheeler hit his cycle near Perumbakkam Pillayar Temple near here.
According to police, Venkatesh, son of AIADMK branch secretary Kalivaradan, was on his way to Kamarajar Municipality School to write exams when a two-wheeler coming in the opposite direction hit his cycle.
He was rushed to Puducherry Government Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
Villupuram Taluk Police have
registered a case against two-wheeler rider Senthilkumar and are investigating.
