Gopal Srinivasan, director, TVS Electronics Ltd, has been elected as the chairman of Tamilnadu Council of the Confederation of Indian Industry for the year 2007-08.         He is a member of the CII's Southern Region and was the chairman of Connect 2006 — the flagship event in the ICT sector organised by the apex body. Srinivasan is also the joint managing director of Sundaram-Clayton Ltd and he is in the Board of several TVS Group firms.         He was the president of Manufacturers Association for Information Technology (MAIT) and a recipient of 'Electronics Man of the Year - 2004' given by Electronics for You magazine. Srinivasan holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan, US.

        Manikam Ramasami, CMD, Loyal Textile Mills Ltd, Chennai, was elected as the vice chairman of CII, Tamilnadu Council, for the year 2007-08.

        Ramasami is an active member of CII and was the chairman of Textile Sub-Committee of CII's Southern Region during the years 2004-05 and 2005-06. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Technology from IIT, Chennai.
